Krabi to Malaysia

After a night ferry and a morning bus we made it to Krabi. The night ferry was basically loads of floor mats next to each other. It was actually quite confey but I had picked up a fever and headach again so I didnt sleep all night. I ended up sitting outside talking to fellow none sleepers. After getting off the ferry and getting a free tuk tuk to the bus station I realised I had left my handbag on the boat (what a plum), I told the ticket man and he said he cant get me a tuk tuk now I will have to run, I still remember the directions right left and down the river. Safe to say I ran, and reclaimed my bag. When we got to Krabi I colapsed on the bed and remained there all day oooooo the illness I was sooo freeking hot. The day after getting to the main village in Krabi we decieded to move to a quieter part Railey, we stayed there for three days. it was quite hard to find cheap accommodation as most places were resorts, a place that use to be for backpackers has been reclaimed by more hotels. After a little trek with our massive bags on our back we found a place which was still expensive but cheaper than the rest. That afternoon we went for a walk the other side Railey and found the backpackers we had heard of, huts hidden in the jungle but 5 mins walk away from the beach we moved there the next day. we went for walks to all the beaches and found the beach on all the postcards, the cliff face was amazing, the colours and shape. I did alot of sleeping in Railey still not feeling to good. The day we left it was the thai new year called Songkon (i couldnt tell you if thats spelt right). We joined in on the party, I think our new years should be celebrated like the thais. Its a huge water fight every one in thailand joins in, it was started buy monks splashing water on people as a symbol of a clean start, generations have past by and it has become lots of fun. Theres also people going round with soap and water and talcom powder, they wipe it on you face wishing you happy new year. Me and charlotte bought our waterpistals which didnt compare to some peoples, there were people with buckets of icewater tipping it over people as they walk past, vans driving slowly up the road with loads of people on the back with a big barrel of water, they threw buckets over all the crowds they walk past. We were soaked through buy the time we finish, but the party continued all night and for the next three days, I dont think me and charlotte have been so clean all trip aswell. Me a charlotte were only staying in An Nang (Krabi main town again) for a night as we were heading to Malaysia for a couple of days we had to re-new our visas. The nights stay in An Nang was funny ,well?!! we stayed in a room which had bed bugs, there were so many me and char slept on the hard tiled floor, slept quite well actually.
The drive to Malaysia wasnt to bad it was quicker than we thought, we were picked up at 6.30am by a mini bus, swapped on to another bus just before the border and then on the other side of the border we got on to a coach which took us to Kuala Lumpur, We reached our destination at 2.00 am. I had a little trubble at the border as my stamp in to thailand was near enough washed away in the water fight, luckly they saw charlottes dates were the same and let me through. Me and charlotte really liked KL more than any other city we have been to in S,E,A. We stayed in a guesthouse in china town, they had the most amazing fuite. Whilst in KL we went to a huge bird park and butterfly farm, being in the bird park you really wouldnt bieleve you were in a main city, we saw soo many different type of birds. We also went to see the twin towers (the ones on entrapment 'film'). They give out free tickets in to the building but only so many a day you have to get there at 7:00am to que for a ticket. It was well worth it tho we got to go up on the sky bridge, you can see for miles. The building its self it just amazing i dont know how they can even build a building like that. We saw the towers at night they shone like christmas trees in the dark, for a building so big in the city they were like magic. O'yes i have to tell you its not very intresting but we went in to a shopping mall it was soo exciting, and we saw a topshop (thought i would just throw that in there) its very rare we see somethink familiar. After 3 days there it was enough so we took a over night bus to Hat Yai which is on the thai side of the border, and then got a tuk tuk to a bus station where we had to get a bus to Trang, where we stayed for the night. Me and charlotte nearly missed the bus to thailand we had a taxi driver which was like "duh" so we got out of that taxi at the traffic lights and got in to one which knew where he was going, they were waiting for us I wanted to give them a hug.

Ko Toa all the way!!

kO TAO ................. Well you know I said I loved koh pang Ngan I love this island twice as much.
We have been here for seven days and are leaving for krabi tomorrow I cannot tell you how much I shall miss this island.
We got here at 2pm one afternoon, We struggled to find cheap accomodation as everyone who was at the full moon is also heading over to ko tao, we eventually found a small room for 400bt, a very hot small room I may add. As we were looking around, we decided to ask about diving in the shops to get a general idea of prices, we came across a dive school run by irish guys and accomodation was included in the course so we booked it and moved in straight away.
The dive course is called open water, this qualifies you to dive where ever you like, not having to have some one hold you or go throught the instuctions of diving each time. We started on the second day of Koh Tao this part wasnt included in the three days its just to introduce you to your instructor and get your details the fun begins the next day.
Day one : start 7:oo am
Me and charlotte arose out of our pits at 6:45, had our breakfast which we purchased from the local 7/11 (tesco basically) stumbled down to the dive shop where we were given a BC, wetsuit, and flippers. hopped on to the long tail boat which took us to the main boat which took us to our dive spot. We learnt how to connect the equipment and make sure it was all safe to dive. Suited up and ready to dive. We were taken to water which was standing hieght, this is where we practiced and learnt how to cope with situations under the water like if some one kicks your regulator out your mouth, or if your tank has run out of oxygen how to ask your buddy to breath out of his secondrey regulator. After learning these little important facts we were taken for a little dive five metres under the water, we saw loads of different types of fish, my favourite was the angel fish (me and charlotte getting a little excited at times and scared off a few fishes) . We then learnt how to do a emergency exit to the surface saftley. After the diving session in the morning we had a therory lession in the classroom for 2 hours.
Day 2 : start 7:00 am
Once again me and charlotte rolled out of our beds, its much easier when you know your going diving, to eat our little breaky from 7/11. We collected our equipment and made our way to the dive spot taking the same route as the day before.the difference between today and the day before is we do two dives and we start at 10 metres and go down to 15 metres, we saw so much more than the day before i wish i could name all the fish but i didnt know what half of them were if im honest. We got paired up with a "buddy" they say you should always go with a buddy. i got paired up with pepper a canadian guy he was so funny, i kept losing him underwater looking around and then looked up he was above lol. (you had to be there moment i think). On the second dive they had a little obstical course for us to go through before the actuall dive started, they needed to know you were confidant and use to going round up down and squeeze through gaps. (so much fun) When we were going through a crack in the coral i cut my finger on the coral which was fine until i looked at it , the blood was greeny black, i thought i turned in to and alien. i showed tom the assistant instructor he just did the ok sign, i looked at my finger and thought this isnt normal it carnt be. When i got to the surface it was red again, appartently the first colour you lose when going underwater is red. We were back in the classroom for the afternoon.
Day 3 : start 7:00 am
This day was the best day for diving, the water was so clear, the instructor said it hadnt been that good in ages. (hell yeh) We went down to 18 meters, and saw sooo many amazing things from fish to corals to wierd things. We had a camera guy following us so i have a video of this dive. We were all filmed taking of our googles and putting on a pair of funky sunglasses and doing a dance sooo funny. I will have to show everyone the video as telling you about just will not do it justice. Me and char didnt want the dives to end we were loving it in this new world.
Discovering this new world has definatly been the highlight of my trip i intent on going back to kotao and doing my advanced course. The colours and peacfulness of diving is truly amazing i would recommend it to everyone!!!!!!!!!!!!
After our course finished we spent another three days on ko tao i think?!. on one of the days me, char and some of the guys we met diving went on a mini snorkel trip round the other side of the island where you are able to see sharks if your lucky. The beach we were snorkling of was small and tranquil not many people at all, the colour of the ocean was soo blue and you could see the coral from the beach (perfect). No time waisted we jumped right in, and guess what the first this i saw was, a shark, only a small one so its ok, black tip shark im sure you could find a picture on the internet. We snorkelled for 3 hours straight we didnt rrealise it was that long, thank god for factor 50 ay! yet again we saw sooo many different fish, we were all constantly diving down to swim with the fishes once again.
other days were spent lying on the beach and snorkling the local coral. i did not want to leave!
